Use

Aid in the diagnosis of tubulointerstitial disease associated with hypersensitivity to drugs (eg, penicillin and its analogues)

Hansel stain with microscopic exam of concentrated urine specimen prep

Container

Plastic urine container or BD urine transport tube (red/yellow)

Storage Instructions

Refrigerate urine container for up to 48 hours. Refrigerate BD urine transport tube (red/yellow) for up to 72 hours.

Causes for Rejection

Urine container (no additive) not refrigerated; urine container (no additive) refrigerated longer than 48 hours; BD tubes older than 72 hours
