- Adenovirus CF Antibodies
Serologic diagnosis of adenovirus infection. At least 12 types of adenovirus have been associated with illnesses such as noninfluenzal acute respiratory disease, pneumonia, epidemic keratoconjunctivitis, acute febrile pharyngitis, and acute hemorrhagic cystitis. Asymptomatic infections can make serologic responses difficult to interpret.
Complement fixation (CF)
There are 41 different types of adenovirus, and many infections are both asymptomatic and persistent. Thus, serologic evidence of adenovirus, and even isolation of an adenovirus from a patient, may be coincidental rather than the cause of the patient's present complaints.
Red-top tube or gel-barrier tube
