Based on your educational institution’s program, you may receive an at-home collection kit or you may be asked to access an at-home collection kit through Pixel by LabCorp. Please consult your educational institution’s information regarding shipping deadlines. If you have not received your kit by a specified date, please contact your educational institution.
You will receive everything you need to collect a sample in your kit, including step-by-step instructions. Collecting the sample is quick and simple. Please refer to the instructions within the collection kit for webpages on “how to collect” videos.
As of August 26, 2020, the current average time to deliver results for the COVID-19 swab test is 1-2 days from the date of specimen pickup. Our labs process samples seven days a week.
The best way to easily access your test results is through the LabCorp Patient™ portal App. If you do not already have an account, that’s not a problem. Just log in or register here. If you received a Pixel by LabCorp kit, follow the instructions for registering your kit and creating an account to receive your test result.
Your rest results will indicate whether your result was either positive or negative.
If you do not understand your results, you should discuss them with the physician who ordered the test or a member of the physician’s office staff. You may also consult your educational institution.
Please check with your educational institution about program-specific instructions.

LabCorp offers an at-home collection kit where you to collect the sample at home and then send it by FedEx it to one of our labs where the actual testing is done. We will send you everything you need in your kit—including detailed instructions—to both collect a sample and ship it back to our lab (including a pre-paid FedEx label).
It’s important to follow the instructions precisely, and to send the kit back by FedEx on the same day that you collect the sample. If you do not collect an adequate sample, or you do not ship your sample within 24 hours of collection, our lab may not be able to perform your test. If this happens, we’ll contact you to discuss next steps.
LabCorp is committed to scientific excellence. You can read about the performance of this test in our FDA Emergency Use Authorization Summary. Other studies have also examined the performance of self-collected nasal swabs.
