Test Includes

Polymorphic genetic markers (loci) to distinguish host versus donor cells

Use

Monitor the acceptance of donor cells by the host (recipient) of a stem cell transplant. Polymorphic loci determined in the preëngraftment testing are used for the evaluation.

Limitations

This test was developed, and its performance characteristics determined, by LabCorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Methodology

DNA analysis by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of short tandem repeats (STR)

Maintain whole blood at room temperature.
