6 - 8 days
Turnaround time is defined as the usual number of days from the date of pickup of a specimen for testing to when the result is released to the ordering provider. In some cases, additional time should be allowed for additional confirmatory or additional reflex tests. Testing schedules may vary.
Gel-barrier tube, red-top tube or serum transfer tube
Allow specimen to clot for 30 minutes. Centrifuge and separate from cells within 45 minutes of draw.
Ship on frozen cool packs or dry ice. Ship with enough dry ice so ice exists upon receipt of package. Samples cannot go above room temperature.
Gross hemolysis; gross lipemia; improper labeling; patients less than 18 years old or more than 100 years old
Vectra® DA measures the concentration of 12 serum proteins. An algorithm is applied to these concentrations to calculate a quantitate disease activity score ranging from 1 to 100. Test results are intended to aid in the assessment of disease activity in RA patients when used in conjunction with standard clinical assessment. This test is not intended or validated to diagnose RA.
An order for Vectra® DA includes and requires an order for 12 biomarkers: VCAM-1, EGF, VEGF-A, IL-6, TNF-RI, MMP-1, YKL-40, Leptin, Resistin, SAA, CRP. These 12 biomarkers are required to generate the Vectra® DA test score. By ordering Vectra® DA, you are ordering all 12 biomarkers and are acknowledging that Labcorp cannot provide a Vectra® DA test result without these 12 biomarkers. Vectra® DA was validated in adults with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).
