Special Instructions

Add aprotinin (Trasylol®) to all specimens to allow for analyte stability. Separate plasma immediately, store, and ship frozen.

Trasylol® collection kit (Obtain N° 33328 through LabCorp branch locations.)


Collection

Using a chilled lavender-top (EDTA) tube, collect a whole blood specimen, add 0.25 mL of Trasylol® to the tube and mix well. Centrifuge the sample and remove the plasma. Freeze immediately. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
