This test is intended for qualitative determination only. The numeric value of the final result above the cutoff is not indicative of the amount of EBV-VCA antibody.
Chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA)
• Negative: <36.0 U/mL
• Equivocal: 36.0−43.9 U/mL
• Positive: >43.9 U/mL
Set up and reported Monday thru Friday.
Red-top tube or gel-barrier tube
Room temperature. Specimen is stable for two days at room temperature or refrigerated. For storage longer than two days, freeze the specimen.

Hemolysis; lipemia; grossly icteric; visible particulate matter; gross bacterial contamination
