Zahra Shajani-Yi, PhD, DABCC

Discipline Director, Esoteric and Routine Immunoassay, Labcorp

Dr Shajani-Yi earned her PhD from the University of Washington and completed her clinical chemistry fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (DABCC), a fellow of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry Academy (FAACC), and board-certified by the National Registry of Certified Chemists (NRCC). Prior to joining Labcorp, she was an assistant professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and Medical Director of Esoteric Chemistry.

Dr Shajani-Yi is a member of several professional organizations including the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC), the Endocrine Society, the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists (ACLPS) and the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). In addition to her role as Discipline Director for esoteric and routine immunoassays at Labcorp, she serves as Technical Director for the San Diego Regional Laboratory. Dr Shajani has co-authored more than 35 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters and guidelines as Dr. Shajani and Dr. Shajani-Yi.
