Media Statement: LabCorp Continues to Increase Capacity for COVID-19 Molecular and Serological Tests

LabCorp continues to work as quickly as possible to increase testing capacity. Since making its COVID-19 molecular test available on March 5th the company has performed over 1.2 million nasal swab tests to help diagnose people who may have the virus. We now have the capacity to perform 75,000 COVID-19 molecular tests per day and more than 2 million molecular tests per month, including our COVID-19 at-home self-collection kits through Pixel by LabCorpTM. LabCorp expects to increase capacity to perform 150,000 molecular tests per day in June.

The company is also rapidly expanding the availability of serology tests to detect IgG antibodies to the virus that causes COVID-19. We currently have capacity to perform more than 70,000 IgG serology tests per day and expect to increase that capacity to 300,000 tests per day in June.

All capacity figures assume available supplies. Our current testing capacity for all COVID-19 tests is greater than the volume we are currently receiving, and we have no backlog.
