What this means for providers

LabCorp is pleased to announce agreements to be a nationwide, in-network provider of laboratory services for UnitedHealthcare and Aetna. With these agreements, LabCorp will now be a contracted laboratory provider for all major national plans.

These new agreements, our broad managed care participation with national and regional plans, and our growing partnerships with health and hospital systems, make it more convenient for you, your staff and your patients to use LabCorp as your primary laboratory.

LabCorp will continue to be the exclusive national laboratory partner for UnitedHealthcare until January 1, 2019, and we will continue to be a national in-network laboratory for all UnitedHealthcare plan participants on a long-term basis after that date.

Beginning on January 1, 2019, LabCorp will also become a national, in-network provider of laboratory services for substantially all Aetna members.  This is a significant expansion beyond our current status with Aetna.

What this means for patients

LabCorp will continue to be a national in-network laboratory for all UnitedHealthcare plan participants. Effective January 1, 2019, LabCorp will also become a preferred national laboratory for substantially all members of Aetna and Aetna-affiliated health insurance plans, a significant expansion beyond our current status with Aetna.

If you are a participant in a UnitedHealthcare insurance plan, then you can continue using LabCorp for your lab testing needs with no interruption.

If you are a member of an Aetna or Aetna-affiliated health insurance plan, and you currently use LabCorp as your laboratory, you can continue that with no interruption. If your Aetna plan does not currently have LabCorp as a preferred in-network lab, then starting January 1, 2019, you will be able to start using LabCorp for your lab testing needs.

For all patients, these new agreements help provide confidence in LabCorp’s ability to provide you with convenient, cost-effective, high-quality laboratory testing.  We appreciate the opportunity to be your laboratory.
