Sandy van der Vaart has served as Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Assistant Secretary at Labcorp since January 2026.
Prior to her current role with the company, Sandy served as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary. Previously, she served as Senior Vice President, Deputy Chief Legal Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary. She has been with Labcorp since 2001 and has held various other roles within the legal department.
Before joining Labcorp, Sandy was a member of the healthcare practice group with Smith, Helms, Mulliss & Moore and served as Director of Managed Care for the North Carolina Medical Society.
She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Society for Corporate Governance and has previously served as Chair of the NC Chamber Legal Institute, Chair of the Health Law Section Council of the North Carolina Bar Association, and President of the North Carolina Society of Healthcare Attorneys.
Sandy earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.
