Turnaround time is defined as the usual number of days from the date of pickup of a specimen for testing to when the result is released to the ordering provider. In some cases, additional time should be allowed for additional confirmatory or additional reflex tests. Testing schedules may vary.
Serum or plasma
Red-top tube or green-top (heparin) tube. Gel-barrier tubes arenot recommended.
Serum or plasma should be separated from cells within two hours of venipuncture. Submit serum or plasma in a plastic transport tube.
Submission/transport (<3 days): Room temperature. For storage beyond three days, specimen should be refrigerated or frozen.
Trough levels are most reproducible.
Therapeutic drug management
Liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS)
Expected steady-state pregabalin concentrations in patients taking recommended dosages: up to 10 µg/mL.
