A panel of robust genetic tests is needed to identify appropriate subjects for clinical trials that directly assess antagonists of the altered proteins resulting from these genetic variants. Such a panel will also be important for assessment of individual disease risk and could be used to identify individuals who would most benefit from particular targeted therapies (i.e., precision or personalized medicine) once these new medicines are approved.
