Nirav Malani serves as Director of Bioinformatics at Labcorp Genetics - Invitae, where he leads the development and deployment of clinical-grade NGS analysis pipelines and informatics platforms across the organization's genomics portfolio. His areas of responsibility span oncology, carrier screening, rare disease, whole genome sequencing, personalized cancer monitoring (MRD), and women's health. He oversees pipeline engineering, dry-lab operations, analytics, and the bioinformatics platform that supports clinical testing across multiple laboratory sites.
Prior to joining Labcorp, Niravwas the founding leader of bioinformatics and data science at Genosity, a clinical genomics startup, where he built the analytical infrastructure, pipelines, and enabled biopharma projects. Earlier, he served as a bioinformatics scientist at Thrive Earlier Detection (Exact Sciences), where he was a core contributor to the CancerSEEK and DETECT-A multi-cancer early detection studies published in Science (2020). He spent seven years at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where he developed computational tools for gene therapy and genome editing research and co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications.
