Dr. Cai is board certified in clinical molecular genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics, and holds certification in molecular genetic testing and oncology (molecular and cellular tumor markers) from the New York State Department of Health. She earned a PhD in Genetics, Texas A&M University, Texas and completed her fellowship in clinical molecular genetics at Harvard University, Boston, MA. Dr. Cai has co-authored more than 35 articles and abstracts that have appeared in peer-reviewed publications and holds patent for her gene discovery research. She has more than 25 years experience in genetics research and development.
