Ms. Simonsen holds MLT certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Registry and brings more than 20 years of combined hospital and reference laboratory experience as a generalist across all clinical laboratory disciplines, with specialized expertise in hematology.
During her 19-year tenure at Labcorp, she has served in multiple leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including operational management of regional core laboratory departments within the Atlantic Division. In 2018, she received the Labcorp Chairman’s Award in recognition of her leadership contributions to maintaining turnaround time performance during a major high volume client acquisition.
Ms. Simonsen currently serves as a Software Development Engineering Manager on the Laboratory Systems Middleware team, where she supports LCWS middleware across the Labcorp network. Additionally, in her role as one of the national discipline directors for hematology and urinalysis, she oversees new testing platform evaluations, implementation initiatives, procedure and policy development, and standardization efforts. She has also served as an inspector for numerous College of American Pathologists (CAP) inspections and internal audits, supporting corporate quality assurance and regulatory compliance across Labcorp facilities.
