From field variability to regulatory reliability: Rethinking spider testing in PPP assessment
17 May 2026
SETAC Europe 2026 -- Spiders of the genus Pardosa (wolf spiders) are ecologically important non-target arthropods (NTAs) commonly found in EU field. There is growing recognition of spiders’ pivotal ecological role in EU agroecosystems and the increasing demand of ecological data to support predictive risk modelling. The objectives of this study were to re-evaluate the Pardosa guideline, its alignment with current regulatory demands, and comparison of its methodology with established OECD 207 terrestrial testing protocol.
