Dr. Chan is board certified in clinical molecular genetics and molecular diagnostics. He is also ASCP-certified in microbiology, molecular pathology and laboratory management. Furthermore, he is an ASQ-certified quality auditor and quality manager. He continues to hold an active California law license and an USPTO patent attorney license. He received a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Hong Kong, a juris doctor degree from Concord Law School, and an MBA degree majoring in quality management from Loyola University at New Orleans. He completed a clinical molecular genetics fellowship at Columbia University, New York and a post-doctoral fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In addition to authoring a number of book chapters, Dr. Chan has authored more than 20 articles and abstracts for peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Chan was a past director for American Board of Clinical Chemistry and a past CLSI committee member to revise NGS guidelines.
