  • Option II: Slides and controls are returned with an immunostain interpretation.
  • Option IV: Full surgical pathology consultation (can be ordered with option II.)

Special Instructions
Clearly indicate program option being ordered. For program options II and IV, please submit an H & E slide and provide the following information: differential diagnosis, site of specimen, and clinical information. Collection
Specimen should be fixed in 10% neutral-buffered formalin. Optimum fixation time is 12-24 hours, not to exceed 48 hours.
Storage Instructions
Maintain specimen at room temperature.
Use
An extensive list of diagnostic immunohistochemical stains and profiles is available for the diagnosis of poorly differentiated tumors, identity of primary and metastatic tumors, and classification of lymphomas. Refer to the Diagnostic Immunohistochemical Stains or contact Oncology Customer Service for an updated list of immunostains.
Limitations
Use of fixatives other than 10% formalin may not yield equivalent or satisfactory results.
