LabCorp laboratories have been at the forefront of new molecular tests to diagnose, treat and manage disease, particularly in the areas of infectious disease, oncology and genetics. LabCorp's molecular genetics testing center was involved with the original research and subsequent standardization of Her-2Neu testing for breast cancer.

The Center for Esoteric Testing (CET) - The CET performs the largest volume of specialty testing in the Company network. It is comprised of eight departments - Allergy, Diagnostic Immunology, Hemostasis and Thrombosis, Esoteric Immunoassay, the Kidney Stone Management Program, Microbiology, Special Chemistry and Clinical Toxicology. The Center operates within a 212,000 square foot laboratory complex, where more than 22 million tests are performed a year.
The Center for Molecular Biology and Pathology (CMBP) - Located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, the CMBP develops applications for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology. LabCorp was an early pioneer in Infectious Disease testing, and was the first commercial laboratory to offer HIV viral load and resistance testing. As a scientific leader in the field of Diagnostic Genetics, the CMBP's scientists are known for their expertise in such areas as cytogenetics, and biochemical and molecular genetic testing for conditions like Down Syndrome, cystic fibrosis and Tay-Sachs syndrome.
DIANON Systems - LabCorp's Anatomic Pathology Center of Excellence, is a leader in providing full service, outpatient anatomic pathology and genetic services. DIANON makes the diagnosis for essentially all types of cancer, as well as for many inherited and acquired genetic diseases.
Esoterix and its Colorado Coagulation and Endocrine Sciences laboratories offer specialized disciplines of esoteric testing expertise. Endocrine Sciences is an industry leader in highly specific and sensitive endocrine testing since 1972. Its scientific expertise and specialized services provide valuable clinical information to help physicians deliver optimal patient care. Colorado Coagulation laboratory is a recognized leader in hemostasis testing. Its extensive test menu and staff expertise ensure that clients have the resources to predict, diagnose, and treat unusual bleeding and clotting disorders.
National Genetics Institute (NGI) - Located in Los Angeles, California, NGI is developing novel, highly sensitive PCR methods for testing hepatitis C and other infectious agents. This LabCorp Center is an industry leader in hepatitis and HIV testing and at the forefront of state-of-the-art advancements in the area of plasma screening.
US LABS is an esoteric anatomic pathology laboratory providing critical cancer screening, diagnosis, prognosis and genetic analysis. Cancer screening is performed through biopsy analysis (histology) and cytology. Advanced laboratory techniques, primarily involving the application and analysis of tissue using immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and molecular genetics technologies, are used to aid in cancer diagnosis. Determination of patient prognosis and potential response to therapy regimes is based on quantification of protein and gene expression. US LABS utilizes unique technologies and is at the forefront of application of emerging genetics based technologies for analysis of cancer pathways and therapies.
ViroMed Inc. - This Minneapolis, Minnesota Center offers molecular microbial testing using real-time PCR platforms, molecular infectious disease testing, safety testing for tissue and eye banks, and the most up-to-date techniques for clinical trials testing including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and contract research organizations working on new drug development.

Petitioning organization must;

  • Be located in Alamance County, North Carolina
  • Have 501(c)(3) tax exempt status
  • Complete and submit the LabCorp Community Affairs contribution request form below and other necessary information

LabCorp does not contribute to:

  • Individuals
  • Political campaigns or candidates*
  • Fraternal organizations
  • Individual or team sports
  • Churches and other religious organizations
  • Schools for advertising in yearbooks, souvenir programs, or other special occasion publications

Request Amounts:

Funding amounts range from $250 to $5000.

Request/Response Times:

Requests for funding must be received 90 days prior to the event or program start date. Petitioning organizations will receive a response to their request within 30 days of receipt.
