Storage Instructions

Maintain specimen at room temperature. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Ship specimen to arrive in the laboratory between Monday and Friday.

Improper collection tube (ie, EDTA or heparin); hemolysis; clotted specimen


Test Details


Use

Monitor the level of donor CD3+ cells in the recipient (patient-host) of a stem cell transplant. Polymorphic loci determined in the preëngraftment testing are used as a reference for the evaluation.


Limitations

This test was developed, and its performance characteristics determined, by LabCorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).


Methodology

Antibody-mediated positive selection of CD3+ cells and separation with magnetic nanoparticles. DNA analysis by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of short tandem repeats (STR)
