Test Includes
This test reflexes to Anti-Nuclear Ab by IFA (RDL) if ANCA is positive in order to rule out false positive ANCA due to the presence of ANA.
Expected Turnaround Time
5 - 7 days
Turnaround time is defined as the usual number of days from the date of pickup of a specimen for testing to when the result is released to the ordering provider. In some cases, additional time should be allowed for additional confirmatory or additional reflex tests. Testing schedules may vary.

Test Details
Use
Although C-ANCA and P-ANCA are typically of the IgG isotype, C-ANCA are frequently reactive with PR-3. P-ANCA frequently react with MPO. ANCA/MPO antibodies are found in 30% in glomerular basement membrane disease (Wegener's Disease). 88% of patients with vasculitis-associated pulmonary hemorrhage have elevated IgM ANCA, whereas no patients who are IgM ANCA-negative have pulmonary hemorrhage. IgA ANCA is associated with Cholangitis, Kawasaki disease, Cystic fibrosis and Henoch-Schonlein purpura.

This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by LabCorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration.
