Use

This test may be used to evaluate the central nervous system involvement by infection, neoplasm, or primary neurological disease (ie, multiple sclerosis). A local synthesis of IgA within the CNS is most prominent in patients with bacterial infections and has special relevance in the diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis.
