Media Statement: LabCorp Increases Capacity for Molecular Tests to 200,000 Per Day; Continues to Deliver Results in 1-3 Days on Average from Specimen Pickup

LabCorp has increased COVID-19 molecular testing capacity to 200,000 per day as part of our ongoing commitment to expand capacity to meet testing needs, though volumes received are currently below that number. LabCorp has steadily increased capacity since first making our COVID-19 test available in March, and has performed more than 11.2 million molecular tests to date.

Our average time to deliver results remains at 1-3 days from specimen pickup, and has been consistently under three days on average since late July.

At this time, based on Department of Health and Human Services guidance, we continue to prioritize testing for hospitalized patients and for residents and staff from nursing homes in “hot spot” states. All other testing for patients is performed in the order in which it is received.

We continue to focus on innovations in COVID-19 testing that increase capacity, eliminate supply constraints, and increase access and convenience for specific markets and populations.
