Weiwen Deng, PhD, FACMG

Director, Clinical Cytogenetics

Dr. Deng is certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) in Clinical Cytogenetics (FACMG), the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in Cytogenetics (CG) and Molecular Biology (MB), and the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) as a high-complexity clinical laboratory director in hematology (HCLD). He earned his MD and MS (Microbiology & Immunology) degrees from Shanghai Medical University in China, and PhD degree (molecular & cellular biology) from Tulane University in New Orleans. Dr. Deng published over 20 research papers and book chapters in virology, cancer immunotherapy, stem cell therapy, hematology/oncology, and clinical cytogenetics fields and was awarded 1 U.S. patent. Dr. Deng received his clinical cytogenetics fellowship training in Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center/Signature Genomics in Spokane, Washington. Prior to joining Dianon Pathology, Dr. Deng worked for Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center in California.
