Detection, treatment, and monitoring of HIV is a major health care issue throughout the US. LabCorp, an industry leader in viral load testing, genotyping, and phenotyping, offers one of the broadest testing programs for the management of HIV-infected patients. LabCorp was the first national commercial laboratory to offer polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing for the early detection of HIV infection and continues to be a technological leader in genomic testing for HIV.

HIV GENOSURE® When Accuracy and Timing Are Important……Be GENOSURE®

Benefits of HIV GENOSURE®

  • Improved sensitivity
  • Faster turnaround time
  • An affordable option
  • Report provides partial interpretive information when full sequencing is not possible.
  • The report is readable in multiple formats (print, copy, or fax)
  • Flexibility of ordering a genotype (HIV GENOSURE® ) or for more complex genotypes, a genotype test plus a VirtualPhenotype™ report (HIV GENOSURE® PLUS)

HIV GENOSURE® FUSION Resistance Testing

HIV fusion inhibitors are a new class of antiviral drugs that offer renewed hope to HIV patients who have acquired resistance to other currently available antivirals. LabCorp's HIV GenoSure® FUSION assay involves the sequencing of the relevant region of the env gene involved in the binding of fusion inhibitors to CD4 cells. This specific genotyping assay targets the env region of the HIV viral genome and is needed for analysis of fusion inhibitor resistance.

HIV GENOSURE® FUSION Resistance Testing

  • The first national commercial laboratory to offer HIV resistance testing to physicians
  • The first central laboratory to offer TaqMan© real-time PCR for HCV with the broadest dynamic range currently in the industry
  • The first central laboratory to offer noninvasive assays for early cancer detection
  • The first clinical trials central laboratory to offer combined phenotyping and genotyping to determine drug resistance.
  • The first central laboratory to use genomics during a clinical trial to test for overstatement of the HER-2/neu protein, helping to improve drug efficacy by identifying patients most likely to respond favorably to treatment.
  • The first central laboratory to offer local phase I testing combined with global central laboratory services.
