LabCorp's allergy program

More than 50 million Americans suffer from allergic disease and you see patients with allergy symptoms every day. LabCorp’s allergy program includes ultrasensitive, allergen-specific IgE tests that identify patients with atopic allergy at low-level sensitivities to specific allergens. The results can help assist you in determining an optimal therapeutic approach for your patients.

Clinical Application

  • Helps differentiate IgE-mediated allergy from other disorders that may produce similar symptoms.
  • Enables monitoring of patient’s response over time with quantitative results that support immunotherapy.
  • Aids in disease detection in pediatric patients; young children with untreated allergies are at increased risk for developing asthma. 1,2
  • Requires a single blood sample; patient-friendly specimen collection.

Scientific Leadership

  • Provides a direct measurement of IgE circulating in the blood, yielding a quantitative result for each allergen tested.
  • Allergen-specific methodology that identifies patients with low-level sensitivities, ie, quantitative IgE levels less than 0.35 IU/mL. 3
  • Test results are traceable to World Health Organization International Reference Preparation standards. 3
